As of May 1, 2008, Massachusetts foreclosure activity information (from the intention to foreclose stage to the foreclosure sale) by loan holders, loan servicers, and attorneys who placed these mortgage loans in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts must be entered and updated in a database at the Division of Banks via its Foreclosure Petition website.
There are two ways to access the information in this database:
General Public Data reports – Any user can generate a report by going to the Division of Bank’s website (www.mass.gov/dob). Then click the General Public Data link. For each foreclosure property sale, the reports lists the:
City (where the property is located)
Sale Date
Sale Price
Sold To (Type of buyer – For example, Mortgage / Investor or Third Party)
