The Search Petitions function enables you to search for specific foreclosure petitions entered by your organization. You can then view or update the petitions.
To search for a foreclosure petition
Access the Foreclosure Petition Website:
Go to the Division’s website (www.mass.gov/dob).
Under New Online Foreclosure Database in the center column, select Click here for additional information regarding the filing process.
Select Click here to access the Foreclosure Petition Website. The Foreclosure Petition Website home page displays.
Log in by entering your user name and password.
Click Search
Petitions located in the blue
bar at the top of the page.
Enter one or more search criteria:
Petition ID Number
Borrower's First Name
Borrower's MI
Property City
Property Zip Code
Right to Cure Notice Date – MM/DD/YYYY
Status –
Select a status from the drop-down list. Choices include:
Incomplete –
Displays only petitions that are incomplete.
90 Day –
Displays only petitions for which the 90 Day Right to Cure notice has
been sent.
Foreclosure –
Displays only petitions for which the foreclosure date has been entered.
Loan Holder's Name – Type the first letter of the loan holder. The application will display a list of loan holders registered in the system that match the letters. Select the desired loan holder name. If the loan holder name does not appear in the list, you must register the loan holder (if you are authorized to do so). Log out and click the Register link.
Note: Not all fields must be completed to conduct your search.
Click Search. A list of petitions that meet the criteria display below. If the list contains more records that can fit on one page:
Click NEXT >> to move to the next page.
Click << PREV to move to the previous page.
Click Last to move to the last page.
Click First to move to the first page.
Click Clear to remove any text in the Search fields. The system will then display all of your petitions.
Note: Clicking Search without entering any criteria will display all of your petitions.
Click View
for the petition you wish to view or edit.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 for perform another search.
